Model Kamila was on the cover of @elle_kazakhstan last spring, for the country she calls home. She is here in NYC to pursue modeling in the states after testing the waters living in Thailand, South Korea, Japan, France, Spain, UK, and China. l asked her a couple questions about her opinions on the industry below.

g: What's it like to be such a big medium and necessary factor as a model to create art in fashion?

k: I don't feel like I create art or do anything essential or important.

g: You definitely are essential and important. With out you the pictures wouldn't be the same. You are the one that delivers the whole creation, your expressions and body language make the entire picture. The shoot would be nothing without you.

g: What kind of art do you want to be apart of?

k: If I had to choose an art form that resonates with me and I'm most interested in consuming and would like to be a part of one day, it would be writing fiction or articles.

g: What's your favorite part about being on set?

k: I love meeting new people from all around the world and learning about diverse cultures and customs.

g: How would you define your style?

k: Comfort. Outside of set, I can't stand itchy fabrics, tight clothing, or uncomfortable

g: What's your dream shoot?

k: Somewhere in the dessert, but with cool tents to hide in.

g: What's the biggest cultural differentiation working/shooting in the US versus other countries?

k: People talk more but in a good way, in other countries no one really cares about getting to know each other.
